The forms

: The simple future is the verb tense that indicates an action that will happen after the moment of speaking. It roughly corresponds to the Polish «będę + infinitive», but in Italian it is a tense made of a single word.

Formazione

To form the future you start from the infinitive: verbs in -are and -ere change the vowel to -er- (parlare → parler-, prendere → prender-), those in -ire keep -ir- (dormire → dormir-). Then you add the endings -ò, -ai, -à, -emo, -ete, -anno, the same for all conjugations.

Watch the spelling: verbs in -care and -gare add an -h- to keep the hard sound (cercare → cercherò, pagare → pagherò); verbs in -ciare and -giare lose the -i- (cominciare → comincerò, mangiare → mangerò).
